Did you do anything special or different for Memorial Day/3 Day weekend?
We took the trailer up north to camp (if you can call it camping...really just parked in a field lol) for a shooting competition. It was nice to have life seem somewhat normal for a couple of days. Definitely tired after not being used to really going places!

Were you able to do anything special for your mom or mom-like person in your life this weekend?
My mom lives in North Dakota, my brother does too, so he is taking her to lunch and golfing this week from us both. My mother-in-law lives outside of Chowchilla and we ordered take out and some cookies to take over to the ranch for lunch. And she made a blackberry pie! YUM!

After you create your Seneca account using the link and/or code that is posted, it will show an assignment that starts today and is due in a week. It is all about bonding! Different kinds of bonds, how they form, etc. The website allows you to navigate through notes, slides, diagrams, and check questions. The website estimates it will take a student between 36-60 minutes to complete the assignment parts. You do not have to do it all at once. SEE VIDEO I CREATED FOR MORE INFO ON HOW IT WORKS AS WELL :)
I am going to use this program as the basis for these last few weeks.

This test is through a google form. Please follow directions on each question. There are only 3 questions that I am grading by hand. You will need a periodic table open. I included one on a lot of the questions, but you may want one open full screen sized on a tab as well. You can use any of your notes, worksheets, labs, study guides, etc to help you. The form is out of 74 points. However I will adjust it to overall be less points when it goes in Aeries (Google doesn't let me assign partial points to answers for example). This will be open for 1 week. From Thursday at 12pm until the following Thursday at 1pm.
I also attached a Periodic Table file that seems to work well as full screen size and not be blurry :)

UPDATE! I was originally planning for this to be due when we returned to school the Tuesday after Spring Break to be able to have the models all in class and fun and such...well..slight change in plans but we will roll with it! I changed the due date to Friday the 17th. My hope/plan is that we will finish reviewing/test in some fashion the 3.2 unit in the first week after spring break and this would be a part of that unit. It is still a BONUS project. But, since we won't be able to bring it in to school, please take MULTIPLE GOOD QUALITY PICTURES so that I can see all of the components to be able to give you points based off the directions/rubric that was attached. It is my intention for this to be a way to put some use of the knowledge of atomic structure to use/applicable to life/something hands on/and honestly to be a little fun and crafty and creative with whatever you can find around your homes :)
This is due when we return to school, or if you create something that is perishable...upload GOOD, QUALITY, MULTIPLE pictures so that I can see all the components of your model easily and clearly.
Upload the written portion here.

PLEASE REPLY for some extra credit points and so that I can make sure everyone is getting info sent through Classroom :) If I don't get a response from you by the start of next week, I will reach out separately to see if you need help with accessing materials. Thanks all!! Let's keep the vibes positive in this crazy new time.... What is something you have enjoyed about your new home/school schedule this week? (ps I haven't done one of these google classroom questions before...I really don't know if you can see eachothers answers or not LOL)

Due:
Atomic Basics & 3.1 Lesson Self Check (pg 22-24 of the 3.1 reading) (both are attached together passed out in class today) - Due Wednesday
Due:
Students will work in their groups to complete an Iron Chef slide deck on Atomic Theory and Models.
On Classroom there is a slide deck posted. 1 group member needs to open it and share it with the rest of the group members.
Each group member will choose one of the following topics (also listed on classroom)
1. Dalton
2. Rutherford
3. Thompson
4. Bohr
If a group has less than 4 people, then they will need to split them up or share one of the topics to work on together. Each group must have all 4 topics. There is one group of 5 (if they are all there, I don't think there are sports today so they should be), add: 5. Quantum Mechanic Model for that group.
Give the groups 25 minutes to read the reference materials attached to Classroom, they can also find information in their Ebook or other sources to complete their portion of the slide deck and then one group member needs to submit it on Classroom.
After the 25 minutes of work time, pass out the notes sheet to the students. Each group should leave a computer open with the completed slide deck in Presentation Mode. Groups are going to rotate to one another, read through the slide deck that was created and write information on their notes sheets from each presentation. As new things or points get brought up in each rotation, or maybe you like the way something is worded by someone else to remember, then add it to your notes sheet.
Have groups rotate over 1 to a slide deck that is not theirs. Give them 7 minutes to read through the deck and take notes on each model. Then a minute to rotate, and repeat through the other decks that are not their own. They can make space on their sheet for the 5th topic when they get to the group of 5’s deck.
Any remaining time, they can work on Agriscience projects, updating AET, or finishing/submitting missing assignments.
